Bottler Review Of 2014

Wednesday, December 31st, 2014

Here’s a short message from Bottler about their 2014!

2014 has been an incredible and very significant year for Bottler!

We released our 1st DIY EP on Disconnect Disconnect Records and we’ve had some very kind words said about it – yes!!! Our drummer (Kano) had an epiphany at 4am one morning and started designing ‘the cow’, that now features on our first selection of merchandise (the cow figurine is more popular than our EP). We learned that we’re not natural poseurs and we’re unlikely to make it in the modelling industry, after seeing our band photos.

Most importantly, we have played with (not sexually) some excellent bands, such as 4ft Fingers, Eat Defeat, Hellwinners, Almeida, Elway, Harker, Going Away Party (previously Southpaw), Wank For Peace, Waco, Prevenge, Lay it on the Line, The Human Project, Mug, Demon Smiles, The 4130s and Nathan Detroit. We’ve enjoyed brilliant punk rock gigs and met some interesting and friendly people. The New Cross Inn and The Windmill (Brixton) were a couple of our favourite venues this year, but the stand-out gig was at The Macbeth in Hoxton – what a crowd!

The Disconnect Disconnect Records compilation ‘United’ featured one of our previously unreleased songs and many of the bands above featured on this British showcase comp. It’s so great to hear that so many excellent punk bands are representing the UK.

Bottler have been busy nearer the end of this year, recording new songs in our usual DIY fashion. Thanks to Ed ‘The Wizard’ Spencer for doing such an excellent job capturing the drums and bass.

Thank you to all who have supported us, we’ll see you at a show soon. We look forward to meeting people we haven’t met or, at least, favouriting your Tweet in 2015. These are exciting times!
